The Biterra Discord Bot Is Here
The Biterra Discord bot is live.
Discord is already where a lot of CTF communities live. It is where people find teammates, share event links, compare notes, and wait for the competition to begin. Until now, getting a Biterra event into that space still meant copying details across and posting updates by hand.
We wanted that connection to feel much simpler.
Install the bot in your server, choose an announcement channel, and Biterra takes it from there. When registration opens for a public event, the bot posts it to Discord with the title, schedule, event branding, registration status, and a link back to the event page.
The timing comes from the event itself, so organisers do not need to remember to send another message at the right moment. Biterra checks for newly opened registrations every 15 minutes and only posts each event once.
If the event has a future start and end time, the bot also creates a Discord scheduled event. Members can follow it in Discord, see the date in their own timezone, and use Register to enter through Biterra.
Finding The Next CTF
The bot is useful between announcements too.
Run /events upcoming and Discord privately shows the next public Biterra events. You can check the schedule, see whether registration is open, and jump straight to the event without filling the channel with bot output.
It gives communities a quick answer to a very common question: what are we playing next?
Register From The Announcement
Players can register from the event post itself. Select Register and, if your Discord account is connected to Biterra, a private form asks for your team name. Submit it and the team is created.
If the account is not connected yet, the bot gives you a private link to sort that out first. Account details, team names, and registration results stay private rather than being posted into the channel.
The aim is not to rebuild the whole event inside Discord. Biterra is still where the competition runs. The bot just removes the awkward gap between seeing an event and joining it.
Add It To Your Server
You need Discord's Manage Server permission to install and configure the bot. It does not need Administrator access.
Once it is installed, run /events setup and choose the channel where you want new events to appear.
