Glossary
Access type
The world setting that controls who can discover and join an event. Common access types are Open, Invite Only, Organisation Only, and Workshop.
Challenge
A task players solve on the map. A challenge can use a flag, multiple choice, conquest, text submission, file upload, launchable infrastructure, timebomb timing, prerequisites, hints, and scoring rules depending on how it is configured.
Challenge Bank
A curated library of reusable challenges that organisers can import into a world from the world control panel.
Event
The player-facing view of a world. Players find events from Events, register during the registration period, join or create teams, and use Access to open the map when play is available.
Event access code
A code that unlocks registration for an invite-only event when the organiser uses a shared join code. It does not choose a team.
Event period
The date and time range when the event is live. Players may be registered before the event period starts.
Hint cost
Points deducted when a team reveals a hint, if the organiser configured a cost. Once bought, the hint is visible to the team.
Launchable challenge
A challenge that can start a hosted instance, usually from a container. Launchable behaviour is separate from the answer type and consumes organisation launch runtime minutes while instances are running.
Organisation
The workspace that owns worlds, members, roles, billing, plan limits, and Labs access.
Organisation member
A user who belongs to an organisation. Organisation members can have roles such as Administrator, World moderator, or Member. Organisation membership is separate from world access and team membership.
Progression
Rules that control how challenges unlock. Progression can use prerequisites and choice groups.
Registration period
The date and time range when players can register for an event. Registration and map access are separate steps.
Score logs
The audit trail for point changes in a world, including solves, penalties, hints, bonuses, manual entries, pending approvals, and removals.
Team
A group of players who share one score in a team-based event. Solves, penalties, hint costs, and bonuses affect the team total.
Team invite code
A code that puts a player into a specific team during team registration. It does not unlock invite-only event registration by itself.
Timebomb
A challenge that appears only during a configured time window.
World
The organiser-owned record for one CTF event. A world has settings, users, teams, boosts, categories, challenges, progression, announcements, logs, and a player map.
World control panel
The admin area for building and running one world. Use it for challenges, Challenge Bank imports, categories, progression, announcements, dashboard metrics, score logs, and map operations.
World user
A user with access or a role for one specific world. World users are managed from the world Users tab. A world role does not make someone an organisation administrator.
