Why players cannot access the map

Registration and map access are separate. A player can be registered for an event but still unable to open the map until the event, team, and access rules allow it.

Fast checks

Check these first:

  • Event period: the event may not have started yet, or it may have ended.
  • Countdown access: access may only open shortly before the event starts.
  • Registration state: the player may not have completed registration.
  • Team state: the player may not have created or joined a team.
  • Access type: invite-only and organisation-only events have extra requirements.
  • Organisation membership: organisation-only events require the right organisation membership.
  • Capacity: world user limits or team size limits may block registration.
  • Wrong account: the player may be signed in with a different email than the invite.

Player checks

Ask the player to confirm:

  1. They are signed in with the expected email address.
  2. They can see the event in Events or My Events.
  3. The event shows them as registered.
  4. They have joined or created a team if the event uses teams.
  5. They are clicking Access from the event card or event page.

If they see a code prompt, check whether they are using the event access code or team invite code in the correct field.

Organiser checks

Open the world details page and check:

  • Settings: registration period, event period, access type, and team size limit.
  • Users: whether the player has accepted an invite or appears as expected.
  • Teams: whether the player's team exists, has capacity, and has the expected invite code.
  • Boosts/plan: whether the world has enough user capacity.

If the world is Organisation Only, confirm the player belongs to the owning organisation.

Workshop events

Workshop worlds can use link-based play and may not follow the normal signed-in registration flow. If the player is expecting the normal Events/My Events flow, confirm the organiser intended to use Workshop access.
