Account settings
The Account settings page is where you manage your own Biterra account details and portal preference. It affects your user account, not a whole organisation or a single world.
Use Account settings to
- View your display name and email address.
- Click Edit Profile to update your display name.
- Start an email address change by entering a new email address and confirming your password.
- Check whether your email address is verified.
- Send or resend verification email when verification is available.
- Review pending email-change status.
- Cancel a pending email change when one exists.
- Set your preferred role for how you normally use Biterra CTF.
You do not manage organisation members, billing, worlds, teams, or event registration from Account settings.
Profile and email changes
Use Edit Profile when you need to change your display name or start an email update.
- Name - Your display name on the platform. The name cannot be blank.
- Email - Your current email address is shown read-only with its verification status.
- New email - Enter a new email address only if you want to change it.
- Password - Required when you change your email address. It confirms the email update request.
Changing your email sends a verification message to the new address. Until that new address is verified, Account settings can show an Email Change Pending Verification warning with the pending email address.
When an email change is pending, you can:
- Resend the verification email.
- Cancel the pending email change.
If the current email is unverified and there is no pending email change, use Send Verification Email.
Role preference
The Role Preference card controls the portal mode you prefer by default:
- Participant - For joining events and participating in challenges.
- Organiser - For creating and managing worlds for your organisation.
Changing this preference updates your account/session preference. It does not grant organisation permissions by itself; organisation roles are still managed from organisation settings.
Account settings vs organisation settings
Use Account settings for your own profile, email, and role preference.
Use Organisation settings for organisation members, invites, roles, billing, plans, and organisation-wide limits.
