Profile and following
Player profiles are public profile pages for individual Biterra users. A player profile shows that player's public activity and gives signed-in users a way to follow them.
Player profile basics
Depending on what the player has done publicly, their profile can show:
- The player's display name.
- Their public stats, such as events completed, followers, rank, points, and recent performance when available.
- An overview of events they have participated in.
- Filters for their event history.
- An Achievements tab for achievement progress and completed achievements.
- A Copy action to copy the profile link.
- A Follow or Following button when you are signed in and viewing someone else's profile.
Your own profile does not show a Follow button to you. To find another player, use a shared profile link, a player link from feed activity, or the suggested players shown in the Feed following modal.
How to open a player profile
Player profiles use links like /players/<uid>.
Ways to open a player profile:
- Use a direct profile link shared by that player.
- Open Feed, then click a player name in feed activity.
- Open Feed, click Players you follow, then click a followed or suggested player name in the Following modal.
The Profile sidebar item opens your own profile when you are signed in. /players also redirects signed-in users to their own profile. It is not a directory for finding every player.
How to follow a player
- Sign in to the Customer Portal.
- Open the other player's profile. Use a shared
/players/<uid>link, a player name from Feed, or a suggested player in Feed > Players you follow. - Click Follow in the profile header.
- Wait for the button to change to Following.
After you follow them, their relevant activity can appear in your Feed.
If you are not signed in, the profile header shows Sign in to follow instead. Use that button to sign in and return to the profile.
You cannot follow yourself. Your own profile shows Copy, but it does not show a Follow button.
How to unfollow a player
You can unfollow a player in either place:
- Open their profile and click Following.
- Open Feed, click Players you follow, then click Unfollow next to the player.
How to share your own profile
- Click Profile in the sidebar.
- Click Copy in the profile header.
- Send that link to someone who wants to follow you.
Following organisations
Organisation following is different from player following.
To follow an organisation:
- Open an event hosted by that organisation.
- Click the Hosted by organisation link on the event card or event page.
- On the public organisation page, click Follow.
You can also follow an organisation from a direct organisation profile link if the organisation shares one with you.
Do not use the organisation switcher or the admin Organisation sidebar item for this. Those open organisation management views for organisations you already belong to; they are not the normal public follow path.
