Leaderboard and score
Your team score determines your rank. The Scoreboard shows teams ordered by points and can also show solve activity or score movement, depending on the page.
Reading the scoreboard
Open Scoreboard during or after an event to:
- View team standings for the world or event.
- See ranks and scores as the event updates.
- Review solve or score movement when the scoreboard view includes it.
- Use anonymous team names when the organiser has enabled anonymous scoreboard mode.
You submit answers, buy hints, and open challenge files from the map. The scoreboard is only for standings and activity.
What affects your score
| Adds to score | Subtracts from score |
|---|---|
| Correct flag, multiple-choice answer, or (for conquest) holding the target | Wrong attempts (penalty set by organiser) |
| First-strike / first-solve bonuses | Buy Hint cost (if you use a hint) |
| Manual adjustments by organisers |
Teammates share one score; every solve adds to the same total.
The organiser chooses the event's point scheme:
- Static - Each challenge is worth its configured point value.
- Dynamic - Challenge value can decrease as more teams solve it, so earlier solves are worth more.
- First strike bonus - The organiser can award extra points to the first team to solve a challenge. A value of
0disables the bonus.
Where to see it
- During a live event, the event homepage and scoreboard page can show standings and solve activity.
- In the world map, the event UI can expose scoreboard information depending on the organiser's settings.
- After the event, final rankings may remain visible if the organiser leaves scoreboard visibility enabled.
- If Anonymous scoreboard is enabled, player-facing views use generated anonymous team names. Admins can still see real team names.
Ranks are based on score. If two teams have the same score, they may share the same displayed rank depending on the scoreboard view.
