Recruitment assessment events
Some events are recruitment assessment worlds: practical challenge sets used in hiring workflows. Candidates complete tasks on the map; recruiters review applications in the customer portal Recruitment area (organisers only).
Before you start
- You may receive a job link or world link with an application form.
- You can apply without a Biterra account (guest applicant) or while signed in with an existing account.
- The event may not show a public scoreboard CTA like a normal CTF.
Applying
- Open the recruitment world homepage (from the link you were sent).
- Choose Do assessment (or Continue assessment if you already started).
- If you have no application yet, you may see:
- Start new application — open the form with name, email, CV, and required answers.
- Resume application — request a resume link by email if you started earlier on another device.
- Submit the form. You should land on the map to work through assessment tasks.
If you already have an in-progress application, the homepage usually shows Continue assessment only (not the start/resume chooser).
Session length vs assessment deadline
Two different timers apply:

If the deadline passes while your cookie is still valid, you are redirected off /map to the world homepage (?assessment=deadline). Use Resume application if the job is still open and you need a new login session.
While you work
- Use the Application panel on the map for task progress and deadlines.
- Open tasks from the panel or the map like a normal event.
- Signed-in applicants may have name and email prefilled from their account.
Leaving the assessment
Back to portal
On the world homepage footer or map footer, Back to portal opens the public Events page.

I'm finished → Leave world
When you are done:
- Click I'm finished on the map (opens a completion message).
- Click Leave world to close your application and return to public Events.
For guest applicants, Leave world also ends your session (same as Back to portal). You typically cannot reopen the map for that application after leaving.
Resume links
If you used Resume application, check your email for a one-time link. The link is valid for 24 hours and can be used once. Used or expired links cannot be reopened; request a new link or contact the recruiter.
Troubleshooting
- I landed on Events instead of the map after applying — Refresh or use the organiser link again; guest apply should set world access before the map loads.
- I see Start new application but I already applied — Try Resume application, or sign in if you applied with an account on another device.
- Back to portal left me logged in on Events — You were signed in with a normal account; only guest applicants are signed out completely.
- I cannot re-enter after Leave world — Leaving closes the application; contact the recruiter if you need access again.
- Cookie still works but map sends me home — Your assessment deadline has passed; the application is failed even if login has not expired.
