Boosts
Boosts are temporary upgrades for a single world. They add capacity or unlock specific branding features for that world without changing the whole organisation plan.
Where: Worlds, click View details on the world. On the world details page, open Boosts from the world info card (e.g. the boosts chip or link). The Boosts modal opens.
Use boosts when one event needs more than the current organisation plan normally allows, but you do not want to upgrade the whole organisation plan.
What you can get
- User limit boosts - Raise the maximum number of participants allowed in that world (useful when your plan's per-world limit would otherwise cap you).
- Feature boosts - Some plan-gated settings, such as custom subdomains or company logos, can be enabled by specific boost types when available.
Other boost types may be available depending on your plan; the modal shows what is on offer.
What the Boosts modal shows
The modal is split into three tabs:
- Available - Boosts you can purchase or activate for this world.
- Active - Boosts currently in effect. Active boosts show details such as start date, end date, duration, users, and price when those values apply.
- Expired - Past boosts for this world. Use this to review previous capacity or feature boosts after they have ended.
Available capacity boosts can ask for custom values such as Number of Users and Duration before purchase. Some feature boosts are one-off unlocks, such as company logo or world subdomain.
For available boosts, click Purchase Boost to configure the boost when options are required, then Pay for Boost to continue.
How it works
- Boosts are per world - You choose the world when you open the modal; any boost you buy or activate applies to that world only.
- Boosts do not change the organisation plan for other worlds.
- Capacity boosts can be duration-based. They expire after their set time.
- Feature boosts unlock the matching world-level feature only for the boosted world.
- Plan-gated fields in Settings may show a View boosts CTA when a boost can unlock that field for this world.
You can have multiple boosts active at once for the same world. When a boost expires, that world's limits or features revert until you add another boost or change plan.
When to use them
Use boosts when you need a temporary increase in capacity or branding features for a specific event, such as a large one-off CTF, branded event page, or custom event subdomain.
Use an organisation plan upgrade instead when you need the same limit or feature across many worlds, or when the plan includes broader features such as organisation-wide limits or Labs access.
Things to check before buying
- Make sure you opened Boosts from the correct world.
- Check the Available, Active, and Expired tabs so you know whether the world already has a matching boost.
- Confirm whether the boost is capacity-based, feature-based, or both.
- Check the duration and expiry.
- For capacity boosts, check the user count and duration before paying.
- If you need the same capability across many worlds, changing the organisation plan may be cleaner than boosting each world.
